FOUNDATION / OPEN SOURCE / COMMUNITY

BUILT TOGETHER.
OPEN BY PURPOSE.

Free creative tools. A community that can shape them. SHOWAVE is committed to fully free and open-source software, sustained by the people who build, use and support it.

Creative freedom is the purpose.

SHOWAVE is a project by Afro Unity Group. Its foundation initiative brings software development, practical learning and community participation into one shared effort.

01 / FREEDOM

Tools people can shape.

Our commitment is software people can use, study, change and share. Source access, a published license and build instructions belong alongside each open-source release.

02 / PARTICIPATION

More than code.

Developers, artists, operators, educators, writers and testers all help improve the tools. Clear feedback and a useful guide are contributions too.

03 / CONTINUITY

Keep the work moving.

Voluntary support gives people time to fix problems, test productions, document workflows and maintain the shared infrastructure.

Different roles. A shared responsibility.

This is the working stewardship model for SHOWAVE. Roles follow the work, and decisions should carry a clear explanation.

FOUNDING / PURPOSE

Keep the mission clear.

Godrick Sankofa founded SHOWAVE. Afro Unity Group is the project home. Founding stewardship carries the project’s purpose and helps create the conditions for contributors to succeed.

CONTRIBUTORS / EXPERIENCE

Bring the real workflow.

Contributors propose improvements, share designs, write documentation and test changes. Participation is open to different skills, with named or anonymous recognition by choice.

MAINTAINERS / QUALITY

Look after each area.

Maintainers coordinate work, review changes, explain priorities and check tests and documentation before release. Maintainer appointments and responsibilities should be recorded as the team develops.

Make the path from idea to release visible.

Our intended workflow follows open-source practice: discuss the need, develop a focused change, review it with the people affected, then test and document the result.

01 / DISCUSS

Start with the problem.

Describe a production need or a reproducible bug. Keep the proposal and its rationale together so others can understand the decision.

02 / REVIEW

Build in focused steps.

Propose a small change with a test, screenshot or example. Maintainers review it, contributors improve it, and affected users help check the outcome.

03 / RELEASE

Share the evidence.

Stabilize the work, document its limits and publish release notes. A preview is a place to learn; a stable release must meet its quality gates.

Follow the roadmap ↗

Support the project’s independence.

Individuals, production teams and organizations can support the same shared mission. Funding helps sustain the work; contributors and maintainers shape the development priorities.

PEOPLE / DEVELOPMENT FUND

Help make the next release.

Support development, testing, learning and infrastructure. Contributions of time, equipment access and practical knowledge matter alongside financial support.

ORGANIZATIONS / SPONSORSHIP

Back the tools your community needs.

Prepare a sponsorship or in-kind support proposal in the community workspace. Recognition follows a confirmed arrangement and permission to publish.

Prepare a support draft ↗
Support does not buy equity, guaranteed financial returns or control of the roadmap. Sponsor recognition does not imply endorsement of a sponsor’s products. Downloads remain available without a donation.

Trust needs a visible record.

Our reporting commitment is to publish funding received, how it is used, supported work and progress when verified records are available. Contributor activity and financial reporting are separate records.

CURRENT / PAYMENT DESTINATION

Know who receives your support.

The existing Flutterwave donation page identifies Novus Foundation Uganda as the recipient. A dedicated SHOWAVE payment destination remains planned.

CURRENT / ORGANIZATION

An initiative taking shape.

A separate legal foundation, formal board and financial reporting system have not been established in this website. No verified funding totals or financial reports are published here yet.

Funding priorities & reporting status ↗

Start with the work we can share today.

The current development home is dvicreateow-prog/openlive. Repository, issue and review access requires permission. Public source availability, the release license and reproducible build guidance remain publication milestones for the fully open-source release.

DEVELOPMENT / CURRENT HOME

Follow the source.

Use the current repository for development. Contributions should follow the project’s review process and the terms published with the source when available.

COMMUNITY / FIRST STEP

Make a useful contribution.

Prepare a test, guide, design or support proposal. Save and export a draft locally; this prepares work to share and does not submit it automatically.

A model worth learning from.

Blender’s public development workflow and independent community funding inform this approach. SHOWAVE is an independent project, with no Blender affiliation.
